First Appearance: Aquaman #33 (May-June 1967) I know Aquaman and everything associated with him has quite a bad rep, but I think his character has more potential than people give him credit for. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Aquagirl. Originally described on the cover of her debut issue as 'wild, wet and wacky!', Tula has since played a supporting role in the Aquaman comics for almost five decades now. Many of her early appearances pushed Aquagirl into the background as either a babysitter or a love interest for Aqualad, presumably doing all the jobs around the house that Aquaman didn't fancy. The 1980's were slightly kinder to the character as she became a honorary member of the Teen Titans, but this didn't last long. During the Crisis on Infinite Earths event, Tula was killed off in heroic fashion... by drowning. Admittedly, the water was poisoned but come on guys! That's a pretty pathetic way for an Atlantean to go. At least let her get caught in a dolphin net or something.
