20 Worst Ever Comic Book Sidekicks

10. Jimmy Olsen (Superman)

First Appearance: Superman #13 (November/Decemeber 1941) We made it to the top 10! Go you! Photojournalist Jimmy Olsen has appeared in countless incarnations over the years, but none have been as ridiculous as the silver age series Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen, which was published for 20 years, spanning a total of 163 issues. How Superman didn't lose it and smash Olsen's damn signal watch I'll never know. 163 issues of bizarre slapstick and even more bizarre transformations fared far better than it had any right to. Some of Olsen's more memorable transformations included a Wolf-Man, a human porcupine and even a giant turtle man. No super hero wants or needs that in a partner, Superman least of all. Krypto the Super Dog doesn't seem so bad now though, does he Supes?
