Worth Reading For: Bachalo’s Absurd-To-The-Point-Of-Recklessness Art!

After the dreaded Empirikul almost destroyed all the magic in the known universe, Doctor Strange finds himself at his weakest, but there’s no time for wound-licking. Scavenging whatever scraps of magic he can from arcane weapons and whatchamacallits he’s on the run from his old nemesis Baron Mordo … on the run, that is, through the realm of Nightmare.

Although it’s number 13 this is an excellent place to jump in at “Doctor Strange” and you won’t be sorry you did. Bachalo’s artwork is bizarre, psychedelic and has a beautifully scattered madness to it, but he never loses track of the brilliant poised story by Jason Aaron.

You could do a lot worse than jumping in on this run before the UK release of the film next week.

A. J. S. Scott was created as a homunculus by a mad English Alchemist who was trying to make rum from ink and seawater. He is still a fan of both and he has no comment on what happened to all the ‘No Exit’ signs in Islington Underground Station when he visited for Beltaine. You can send him missives by bribing the Right Raven with sour-strings, or: Instagram: @ajsscott Tumblr: andrew-scott-things.tumblr.com
