5 Reasons Why Emma Frost May Save Mutantkind (And 5 Reasons Why She'll Be Their Death)

4. Death: Emma Was The White Queen Of The Hellfire Club For Many Years

Emma Frost
Marvel Comics

Emma Frost was introduced as the villainous White Queen of the Hellfire Club. She began her time there as a stripper that used her telepathic skills to enhance what the viewer saw. Standing up to influential club member Sebastian Shaw one day drew her into the Inner Circle and his bid to take it over. Unlike most of the women there, Emma didn’t mind the extreme dress code of women in skimpy lingerie at all times as she saw her body as yet another advantage that she had over men.

Frost and Shaw were instrumental in pushing the human members of the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club out and filling it with mutants. Shaw lamented the poor quality of henchmen and guards, and Emma saw it as an opportunity to fulfill a lifelong dream of opening a school to train mutants at her own Massachusetts Academy. The best would become members of her own team called the Hellions.

Emma Frost ran afoul of the X-Men on several occasions, especially after she tried to force young Kitty Pryde to be transferred to the Massachusetts Academy from Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Frost also managed to switch bodies with Storm at one point and battled Jean Grey with their minds and fell into a month-long coma when she was defeated.
