5 Reasons Why Emma Frost May Save Mutantkind (And 5 Reasons Why She'll Be Their Death)

5. Save: Emma Has Used Her Vast Wealth To Aid Mutants On Several Occasions

Emma Frost
Marvel Comics

Despite coming from a wealthy family, Emma Frost is a self-made woman. She runs a multi-billion dollar conglomerate that she renamed Frost International that specializes in transportation, including ship and plane building, freight and passenger transport, and electronics. She began using her wealth to fund a variety of things to benefit mutantkind.

Emma would take over stewardship of the centuries-old Massachusetts Academy, a highly regarded college preparatory school that she retooled to educate not only the wealthy and influential but to train mutants in the use of their newly emerged powers and abilities. A great deal of money from the Hellfire Club and Frost’s own fortune went to creating the young team called the Hellions, only to have that team eventually killed years later.

Emma Frosts’ Hellfire Trading Company was a key part of building the new island nation of Krakoa. Without the shipping infrastructure, contacts, and ships, Xavier and Magneto would have no way to get their new drugs to their new human customers and no way to fund the new experiment in mutant colonization of this living island. Emma’s company, wealth, and business acumen made the whole thing possible.
