7 New Comics You Should Read In February

4. The Winter Soldier: The Bitter March #1

The Winter Soldier Publisher: Marvel Release Date: 12th February 2014 In classic Marvel fashion, this month sees a new mini-series focusing on The Winter Soldier just a month before his big-screen debut. What sets this book apart from the character's recently cancelled ongoing however, is that this book will see Bucky in his days as a top secret Russian operative working for the Soviet Union during the Cold War. SHIELD is in a critical position. One American agent is on a high-risk mission... with the Winter Soldier not far behind. I absolutely love spy stories, and this has the makings to be an instant classic. Plus, it's coming from Roland Boschi and Rick Remender - the writer currently on fire, with his independent books Black Science and Deadly Class getting acclaimed debuts - so I would bet that it won't disappoint. Plus, despite taking place in the 60s, the book promises to have some serious consequences for both The Winter Soldier and Captain America in the present day - just one more reason to pick this book up.
