Marvel may be known as the House of Ideas, yet lately they're falling behind when it comes to innovation. Marvel tend to stick with what they know, team-ups, ensemble events - you name it.

In the last few years, DC have introduced some incredible characters and tried some new tactics to reel in potential fans. The currently running Death Metal series has just announced a soundtrack featuring huge names such as Zakk Wylde, Rise Against and Andy Biersack. The company have also made real strides with digital distribution as well as making the controversial move to drop Diamond Comics Distribution.

Away from the books, the publisher has been the only company to create an engaging online convention to replace SDCC. DC Fandome has not only given hope to the DC films going forward, but also put the spotlight on some of the industry's best writers and artists.

An argument can be made that DC are always scrambling to combat the backlash they receive on a regular basis. The fact is, DC takes real notice of the fan suggestions and aren't afraid to change when they need to.
