Naturally, mentioning Marvel nowadays without thinking of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is simply impossible.

The absolutely monumental scope the film franchise now possesses is as surreal as it is completely awesome, with heroes like Iron Man and Captain America now being pop culture icons to just about anyone who has looked at a film screen.

While DC's films are definitely improving, they have yet to match both the fan hype and sheer scale of its Marvel nemesis. With the lukewarm reaction of DC's 2017 Justice League film, it's clear there are still steps to be taken before the franchise can begin to match up to the MCU.

With the amount of money a fully established DC film universe would provide, there's no doubt that the DCEU will be fighting fit in no time. But, until then, Marvel basically has a monopoly on the comic book movie market.
