8 X-Men Who Became Avengers

1. Wolverine

Captain America Wolverine
Marvel Comics

Wolverine's ties to the Avengers run deep, he once fought alongside Captain America in World War Two (though that's to be expected when you're as old as Wolverine). There's an ongoing joke that Wolverine has been on just about every team going and it does have roots in truth - there was a period where Logan was everywhere and you couldn't avoid the guy.

Wolverine joined the New Avengers in 2005 and has taken part in a lot of the major crossover storylines involving the team, even having important narrative focus on him during arcs such as House of M and Age of Ultron.

Wolverine was also one of the mutants who were conflicted during the events of Avengers Vs. X-men due to having a shared membership on both sides. In the end, he decided to defy both teams and go on his own one-man crusade to terminate the problem (aka Hope Summers) before things could escalate. Cap didn't like this idea and promptly kicked him out of a moving Quinjet.
