Following DC Comics'
announcement that there will be a DC Universe Vs The Masters of the Universe crossover arc this coming August, a lot of fans of each universe have become incredibly excited. According to DC's own website a couple of weeks ago, He-Man and his heroic team of Eternian warriors will follow Skeletor after he flees to DC Earth, where various characters from both worlds will come in to contact with each other - creating a near endless number of possible encounters. Here is what DC had to say in their announcement:
After narrowly escaping his last battle with He-Man, Skeletor has fled to the most unexpected realm to recover: EARTH! Once there, he sets a plan in motion to siphon off Earths core magic. Forging an unlikely hunting party, He-Man and company go in search of Skeletor. Finding themselves at odds with the heroes of the DC Universe, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe must find a way to stop Skeletor and his mysterious new master!
Everyone will be anticipating fights between the likes of He-Man and Superman (which has actually happened before), the likes of Wonder Woman and Teela and the likes of Batman and Man-At-Arms (as illustrated above), but what about some of the slightly lesser names in each franchise? Which duos that don't immediately spring to mind would make for interesting one-on-one bouts? Of course, we don't actually know which characters will be utilised from either universe in this particular story arc, so this is merely wishful thinking at the moment. But, frankly, wishful thinking is fun to do, so to hell with it! Here, we take a look at five alternative battles we would love to see in DC Universe Vs The Masters of the Universe!
Bonus Confrontation: Mister Mxyzptlk Vs Orko
Now, this one wouldn't make for a very interesting
battle, because Mxy is able to warp reality on a universal scale and Orko is absolutely useless. In that sense, it's something of an enormous mismatch. However, a war of words between the two of them would be very funny to witness! Can you imagine the arguments they'd have? Anyway, on to the main list...
