Jonathan Hickman's X-Men: 5 Reasons To Be Excited
1. It's Hickman!
I mean, he is the reason everyone is so excited.
Over the years, Jonathan Hickman has crafted some epic tales at both Marvel and elsewhere, his runs on the Ultimates, Avengers and Fantastic Four/Future Foundation being arguably the best stories told featuring each of those groups.
If you're looking for reason as to how much of an impact those titles have had, just look to the MCU's Infinity Saga, with much of that series' elements drawing inspiration from the writer's Infinity event from 2013.
Marvel themselves have clearly realised what Hickman has done for their company, the advertisements promoting his new X-books marking this as the next massive era for the group. Marvel have spoken about this being the next big event in the X-Men's history, with the publisher having even compared the upcoming series to the likes of Chris Claremont and Grant Morrison's respective runs on the team.
Basically, there's no one better to bring the X-Men back up to the top of Marvel's roster than Jonathan Hickman. How could you not be excited?
