MCU Phase 4: 10 Obscure Comic Villains Who Should Appear
8. Gorgon
Tomi Shishido is still a relatively young character in the Marvel universe after debuting in 2004, a Japanese mutant of superhuman intelligence, strength and athletic ability who would become Gorgon, a high-ranking member of the Hand and Hydra. It's an unlikely time to expect any interaction with Wolverine, Gorgon's main enemy, in Phase Four, but we can hope.
Just when X-23-in-training Dafne Keen looked to offer the Marvel universe an on-screen heir to Hugh Jackman, it's been discussed that storyline could now be in danger as a result of Disney taking over certain Fox properties at the end of last year.
The best-case scenario could be that Keen's version of Laura Kinney, X-23, is somehow merged into the current MCU, hopefully alongside a raft of other X-Men characters.
Gorgon is an intimidating force individually but also has legions at his disposal. In the event Marvel do appoint a new Wolverine as soon as Phase Four, the Hydra general could provide one portion of an arc that sees Logan removing the heads of the terrorist organisation.
But who could take on the guise of such a vacant-yet-terrifying evil?
Did you ever see Lost? Did you ever see South Korean star Daniel Dae Kim as Jin-Soo Kwon? Did you ever see Jin search for wife Sun-Hwa Kwon with a determination in his eyes as though he'd cut down everything in this world to find her?
That's the kind of unnerving, cold exterior Kim needs to bring to the table as Gorgon. Except now his determination is driven by hate, not love, and his Sun is world domination in the name of Hydra. And he can turn someone to stone just by locking eyes with them.
Ideal Casting: Daniel Dae Kim
