MCU Phase 4: 10 Obscure Comic Villains Who Should Appear

9. Magus

Morbius The Living Vampire
Marvel Comics

A character who has already been discussed as a presence in the MCU (technically), Magus is another extraterrestrial threat who would fall under Guardians of the Galaxy’s jurisdiction if he features on the big screen.

After a post-credits tease in GOTG, the sequel effectively pulled back the curtain on Magus, albeit in his less psychotic self, Adam Warlock - or just “Adam,” as he’s known to us so far. Like the Stepford Wives of space, the Sovereign were revealed in Volume 2’s post-credits scene to have created “Adam,” seen only in his cocoon form.

Those with a keen eye for detail probably spotted a cocoon in The Collector’s lair, originally suggested to belong to an escaped Adam, although director James Gunn since cleared this up as a likely prototype made by the Sovereign.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has already proved he can play both Jekyll and Hyde in Game of Thrones, having transitioned from disdainful, sexer-of-sisters "Kingslayer" into the much more loveable betrayer-of-Lannisters, Jaime.

Adam has been a member of the Guardians in times gone by, but "The Magus" is an omega-level power that would require an MCU-wide effort. The Avengers, Strange, the upcoming Captain Marvel, a Silver Surfer and some X-Men wouldn't hurt if those rights can be sorted. This guy has tussled with the lot, and there's likely to be an Infinity Gauntlet involved if we're sticking to canon.

Ideal Casting: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Tom Sunderland hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
