5. Who Will Play The Heroine?
For a while, it was said that Pitch Perfect actress Hailee Steinfeld would be taking up the role of Kate Bishop.
Various rumours and rumblings hit the internet last year linking the actress to the role. When Variety broke the news that she was offered a starring role in the upcoming Hawkeye series, fans put two and two together and assumed she would be taking the part.
Fans were delighted with the news, as Steinfeld has proved time and time again that she is a brilliant actress. Plus, with her taking the role of Gwen Stacey in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, fans were confident she had what it takes to play a superheroine.
However, it's looking less likely that the Oscar nominated actress will be able to take the role after all. The casting has never received confirmation from Marvel or Disney and the actress herself cast doubts on the rumours back in November.
Speaking with the Radio Times,
Steinfeld stated "That’s not something that’s necessarily happening". While that isn't a straight dismissal, it's thought that her role in the Apple TV+
show, Dickinson, could conflict with shooting and cause her to turn down the role.
