Predicting Marvel's New Guardians Of The Galaxy

4. Moondragon

Guardians Of The Galaxy 1 Relaunch
Marvel Comics

Arguably the most underappreciated of anyone to have been a part of the Guardians since their successful 2008 re-launch, featuring Moondragon in the main six this time around would give her more time to shine. She never rose above being an honorary, unofficial member after Drax and Phyla-Vell revived her. This time she should not be brushed aside.

As one of the relatively few queer Marvel characters, she brings something different to the table, but to dismiss her inclusion as tokenism would be way off base. A rarity amongst the Marvel roster (and comic book heroes in general), Moondragon attained her almighty powers not through alien abilities, circumstances of birth or thanks to a laboratory.

She earned them all on merit, training hard with the Titanian monks of Shao-Lom. At times she's demonstrated abilities to match Thanos, Doctor Strange and Galactus, and has even enslaved Thor before - point being, she'd be a huge force within the Guardians.

Considering a lot of other candidates have a cocky swagger to them, Moondragon's icy cold persona makes her stand out from the crowd. Team based comics often live or die by the dynamics they create, and Moondragon might just be an essential part of that.
