Star Wars: 10 Expanded Universe Comics Every Fan Must Read
7. Obi-Wan And Anakin
Charles Soule seems to be everywhere these days. When he's not busy chronicling the exploits of Matt Murdock/Daredevil at Marvel, Wolverine in X-Men, or She-Hulk in... She-Hulk, he can most often be found penning the latest series set in a galaxy far, far away.
Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin is one of those books, and it occupies a particularly interesting period within the Prequel era. Set in-between Episodes I and II, Soule fills in the blanks left by Attack of the Clones' time-jump and manages to nail each of Kenobi and Skywalker's voices perfectly. Obi-Wan feels the burden of Qui-Gon's last request, while Anakin struggles with his pull towards the dark side of the Force.
Taking place three years after Kenobi pledges to teach Skywalker, the book follows the Master and Apprentice as they are called to the planet of Carnelion IV, an inhospitable world tarnished by the legacy of a destructive conflict fought centuries ago.
For those who loved the dynamic between Obi-Wan and his pupil in the Clone Wars TV show - or even just in the prequels themselves - this book is well worth reading.
