2019 is the year Lando Calrissian returns to a galaxy far, far away, and to say it's been overdue would be putting things lightly.

Lando, portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in Episodes V, VI and IX and by Donald Glover in Solo: A Star Wars Story, is the smooth-talking counterpart to Han Solo's scruffy-looking scoundrel. By the time we meet him in the Empire Strikes Back, he's managed to accumulate enough wealth and power to become the governor of Cloud City, a position of immense responsibility.

The Empire's reputation precedes itself by that point, but there's another book that goes some way in explaining why Lando feared them so much. Simply titled Star Wars: Lando, Charles Soule and Alex Maleev's comic focuses on the character in the years between Episodes IV and V, before he took control of Cloud City, and still embarking on smuggling jobs for whoever can cough up the money.

Only, the assignment here leads him down a precarious path... right to the Emperor's doorstep.

It's a brilliant book, and out of all the mini Star Wars series published thus far, perhaps the best.
