The Walking Dead: 10 Highly Anticipated Moments We'll See In Future Seasons
5. The Return Of Morgan Jones
After the cannibals and before Alexandria, when the group still believes it has purpose in Washington, Rick, Carl, and Abraham make a side trip to find Morgan Jones, last seen mentally unraveling from his guilt and the horrors he had experienced. This time, Morgan joins them and begins to regain a sense purpose and sanity. He travels to Alexandria with Rick and settles into the community, striking up a relationship with Michonne and becoming himself again. Eventually, a massive herd crashes through the gates and Morgan gets bit while helping to defend their homes. He dies soon after, put down by a tearful Michonne. Morgan is vital to Rick's development, as to witness Morgan's redemption is essential for whom Rick wishes to be as he fights to keep his son alive and rebuild a life where there is now only survival. On television, the excellent Lennie James portrays Morgan, and has already been seen once since his introduction in season 1. Season 3s episode, Clear, saw Morgan purging his hometown of walkers and his heart of guilt when Rick asked him to join them at the prison. He said no, he had to stay and finish his work. Morgans return could likely occur at the Season 4 mid-point, when the group strikes out from Terminus towards Washington. After the dehumanizing events of their escape form the cannibals, a reunion with Morgan would be needed by all, especially Rick, as they try to remember who they were and what they have had to become.
