The Walking Dead: 10 Highly Anticipated Moments We'll See In Future Seasons
4. Alexandria Safe Zone
As mentioned, the Alexandria Safe Zone is a large and stable community that Rick's group finds on their way to Washington. Run by the enigmatic and troubled Douglas Monroe, Alexandria becomes the longest lasting safe haven our heroes have found in the course of the walker apocalypse.
Of course, longevity does not mean ease, and some of the most intriguing moments of character development occur in the early stages of their arrival at Alexandria and their attempts to re-adjust to some form of normal life after all they have done and endured.
From Rick and Glenn's weapon's room raid to Michonne's dinner party disgust and Carl's Halloween meltdown, we finally get a glimpse of just how far our group has come since the early days of the collapse, showing themselves to be square pegs to the round holes of a more civil society.
Coupled with a second large colony, The Hilltop, Alexandria represents as much benefit as burden and leads Rick to begin to believe again that yes, you can come back and there is a chance to rebuild.
The Alexandria Safe Zone opens up the world of The Walking Dead and begins the first stage of society attempting large-scale reconstruction. We could expect to see Rick and his group arriving there mid-season five or early season six, giving them roughly a season and a half before they are overrun by thousands of uninvited undead.
