Wolverine's 10 Worst Ever Days

4. The Death Of Wolverine

Wolverine Birthday
Marvel Comics

Though not the first time he'd faced death, 2014's Death of Wolverine was the closest in recent Marvel history it came to being permanent. Charles Soule's comic saw the Canucklehead removed from the Marvel landscape for years. That was until Disney gained the film rights to the X-Men (funny how that works).

Stripped of his healing factor, Logan was already struggling to adjust as a member of the X-Men. He had to rethink his entire fighting style and the way he approached combat. Even using his claws could put him in the hospital as his wounds couldn't heal, leaving him open to bacteria that could kill him. It's safe to say Wolverine was not having a good time, and that was before he learned there was a bounty on his head.

After fighting through many of his enemies including, Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike, he was confronted by Doctor Cornelius, the founder of Weapon X and the source of his many problems. Doctor Cornelius wanted to recreate his success with Logan and sought to bond adamantium to several young mutants.

Logan, not wanting to see other mutants suffer the way he had, slashed the tanks holding the liquid adamantium, covering himself in the process. As the liquid metal hardened, suffocating him, he reflected on his life, content with his choices as he gazed out at one last sunrise.
