X-Men: 10 Things Everyone Gets Wrong About The Phoenix

7. The Phoenix Is Basically Marvel's Green Lantern Corps

Much like how DC expanded the Green Lantern Corps mythos to include various other colour lanterns with their own modus operandi, during Grant Morrison's final arc on New X-Men, he added a new wrinkle to the Phoenix Force.

Ultimately revealing that within the Crown, or White Hot Room, the Phoenix Force exists across multiple hosts across time and universes seemingly simultaneously, almost like a grand Phoenix Force Corps.

So technically, there's a near infinite number of Phoenixes...Phoenices? Phoeni? Anyway, a near infinite number that act like healers and, yes, destroyers as required across their respective beats of time and space.

So, you know, not so much a corps of space cops so much as an immense presence of space gods that are in fact all aspects of the same being.

Yeah, it's kinda trippy, but that's Morrison for you. Plus, comics.
