X-Men: 10 Times Rogue Stole Another Hero's Powers

9. Pandemic

Rogue's superpowers have always been dangerous. It is pretty well known in both the comics and television what happens when any bare skin of hers comes into contact with anyone else's, but when she fought and lost against the villain known as Pandemic, her powers got a horrifying upgrade.

Pandemic is a human who started out as an ally to Professor X and Rogue due to his immense knowledge about genealogy. However, when he got his hands on some of Rogue's DNA he began mutating it further to give himself powers similar to hers. However, he could permanently store the powers of any mutant he touched.

During a moment when he had captured Rogue after a massive fight, he infected her with a strain of virus known as Strain 88 which had his own DNA mixed in.

The original plan was to wipe Rogue completely blank in both powers and personality, but instead, Rogue's powers mixed with this virus to create a new power. Whenever Rogue touched another person's skin directly, they died instantly.

This obviously made Rogue even more afraid of herself. It was only with the "help" of her adopted mother, Mystique, that she got a second chance at using her powers for good rather than for death.
