1. Star Wars: Episode VII

After the things that Star Wars fans have been through over the past few decades, it would be totally fair if they packed up their vintage 1978 Darth Vader action figures and went home. If The Phantom Menace taught us anything, it's to approach these kinds of films with tempered expectations. We were excited about the Star Wars prequels, and we got burned in a big way. So when we started to hear rumors about the new batch of films, we were more cautiously curious than actively enthusiastic. But as much as we want to spurn George Lucas for everything he's done to us, it's hard to deny the fact that we are looking forward to Star Wars Episode VII. The initial reaction seemed to be something along the lines of, "You've already ruined our collective childhood, what more do you want from us?" But then the names started pouring in. Domhnall Gleeson. Adam Driver. Oscar Isaac. Max von Sydow. Lupita Nyong'o. Even with the Star Wars franchise's long and illustrious history of letting us down, you can't deny that's an incredibly exciting cast that makes us dare to hope that this time they'll get it right.
