7. Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child)
Let's face it: Freddy Krueger is already absurd in its inception: you die in your nightmares and your dead for real. However, Robert Englund perfected this character and turned him into one of the greatest icons of horror ever. Frankly, Freddy is always a very entertaining character no matter what they dish out as his motive for a particular chapter. In the case of part 5, the Dream Child, they really were stretching the ideas there. In order for Freddy to come back to life this go around after his defeat at the hands of the Dream Master Alice Johnson, Freddy uses the dreams of her fetus to slowly regain his power. How does he do that you ask? Well each victim he claims, he feeds the souls to the fetus so that Freddy can live through the child. So there... how absolutely crazy does that sound? Definitely not the best Nightmare by far, but still some moments of coolness.
