10 Actors Who Deeply Regret Starring In Comic Book Movies

7. Ben Affleck

If you're wondering why the news that Ben Affleck had been cast as Batman was met with such horror, it has nothing to do with his terrific performances in movies like Argo and The Town, and everything to do with the last time he donned spandex. Daredevil was one of many superhero movies from the early 2000s that failed in every conceivable way, and despite paying due homage to Frank Miller's seminal work, it just didn't work. While fans were disappointed with how the movie turned out (the saddest thing is that with a better director, it really could have done the Man Without Fear justice), no one felt worse than avid Daredevil fan Ben Affleck. "It just kills me," he said of the 2005 movie last year. "I love that story, that character, and the fact that it got f**ked up the way it did stays with me. Maybe that€™s part of the motivation to do Batman." The actor went as far as to say that it's the only movie he's starred in which he truly regrets, a surprise considering the fact that he's been in a lot of crap over the years. Daredevil may have scared him away from the superhero genre for over a decade, but Affleck clearly hopes to make up for past mistakes by playing Batman, promising he'd picket Batman v Superman if it ends up being anything remotely like Daredevil!
