With almost 150 acting credits and two Oscar nominations to his name across a nearly 50-year career, there's no denying James Woods' pervasive brilliance as a performer. In recent years, however, his career has suffered a major downturn.

Woods' last major starring role was in 2013's White House Down, and these days he tends to be relegated to voice-over parts in animated films, TV shows and video games (including Lex Luthor in Justice League Action and Hades in Kingdom Hearts III).

The actor himself claims that he's effectively been "blacklisted" by liberal Hollywood due to his stridently conservative beliefs, and his own talent agent even dropped him on Independence Day last year out of disdain for the actor's "radical" political opinions.

With an estimated net worth of $10 million, Woods has confirmed he has no need to work for the rest of his life, which combined with the controversy surrounding his politics, likely means he won't even be taking on much voice work in the future. He's done.
