10 Actors Whose Credibility Has Suffered The Most In 2017 (So Far)

Casey Affleck won the Oscar for Best Actor earlier this year for his role in the super depressing drama that was Manchester by the Sea - and deservedly so. Affleck, who has put in his fair share of great performances over the years, offered up a haunting, realistic, and - let's face it - mumble-centric turn as loner Lee Chandler.

The win, however, was tarnished by allegations that have dented Affleck as both a human being and an actor: he was sued for sexual misconduct back in 2010, allegations which he denied and settled at the time, but which returned to the forefront of the public consciousness on the back of the Oscar buzz.

Suddenly all that everyone could talk about around Oscar time was Affleck's tarnished reputation, which hasn't exactly done wonders for his credibility as far as the Hollywood machine is concerned.

Affleck's career will survive the incident, of course, but the resurgence of the story this year has bred a new generation of folk who will choose to view the actor in a totally different light. Actress Brie Larson, for example, refused to clap for Affleck after she handed him the Academy Award on Oscar night.
