10 Actors You Hate Because Of One Movie Role

4. Cameron Diaz - Bad Teacher

I hate to do this to the woman who stole my young heart with her jaw-dropping, genuine-Movie-Star-entrance-for-the-ages in The Mask, but the time has passed, and Cameron Diaz has spurned her opportunity to become one of the most memorable of all female faces. It's tempting to put her unintentionally hilarious turn in Ridley Scott's The Counsellor down here, but that performance, cringeworthy as it was, was at least an attempt to star in something original and interesting. Instead it's this that makes the cut, her wince-inducing portrayal of 2011's titular Bad Teacher, a role which saw Diaz bastardise her original sex appeal, trading her once-genuine, super-nova-level-beauty for a cheap, crass imitation of it. It's not that she doesn't look great (she does, but that's not the point here, it's not about how she looks, but what she gives off), it's that she loses her There's Something About Mary infectiousness with it - and it hasn't been back since.
