10 Awesome 2014 Horror Movies To Watch This Halloween
5. Stage Fright
The Pitch: Though it touches on similar themes to Michele Soavi's 1987 horror flick of the same name, 2014's Stage Fright is a very different beast altogether: a horror musical revolving around a camp of theater students who start getting picked off by a mysterious killer. Why It's Awesome: There's absolutely no horror film released this year quite like Stage Fright. With its awesome songs (the killer's discordant metal tunes are particularly fun), great cast (including Minnie Driver and Meat Loaf) and sly satire of both theater and horror movies, it's a film with plenty on its mind beyond bloodshed and one very sexy corset (pictured above, of course). As an imaginative, satirical horror flick, it's a fine debut for director Jerome Sable, who will hopefully stay within the genre and keep lending his unique perspective to inventive new projects.
