8. Green Lantern

While not nearly as bad as most would believe, the Green Lantern film of 2011 could have been so much more. What should have been an epic sci-fi juggernaut of a film was instead hampered by the usual Hollywood stereotype of "we need more Earthly interaction in our sci-fi film to keep it grounded in reality." The entire concept of the Green Lantern and his Corps screams to be unleashed on the big screen in full blown space epic-ness. Somewhere on the cutting room floor there must be more from director Martin Campbell's vision for Hal Jordan and the world of the Green Lanterns. Overseen by veteran Green Lantern scribe Geoff Johns, this film hopefully has much more to offer should it get the Director's Cut treatment. It's execution was misjudged, to say the least; with a stellar cast and a proven comics writer at it's helm, Green Lantern feels like the victim of too much studio intervention.
