10 Awful Films American Horror Story Actors Want Us To Forget

3. Safelight - Evan Peters

First appearing in Murder House as angsty teen Tate Langdon, Evan Peters has played a key role in many of the seasons that followed. Though the young star stepped back from 1984, fans can look forward to seeing him return for the upcoming tenth season.

Playing Quicksilver in the X-Men franchise, there’s no doubt that this fan favourite star has a bright career ahead of them. But one project that we won’t be remembering him for is the cataclysmically unremarkable teen romance Safelight.

Starring as Charles, a teenage photographer with cerebral palsy, Safelight sees Evans befriend Juno Temple as down-on-their-luck hooker Vicki after standing up to her abusive pimp (Kevin Alejandro). Charles aspires to enter a photography contest by capturing California’s lighthouses but lacks the transportation to do so. Vicki agrees to drive him, and the pair embark on a road trip together.

Intended as a brooding coming-of-age tale, Safelight ultimately lacked the imagination to give any lasting impression. Despite Peter’s attempts to give his best wide-eyed performance, an uninspired script prohibited the leads from accomplishing much with their genuine onscreen chemistry.

Coupled with an ending that’s just as puzzling as it is out of nowhere, Safelight is one film that’s best overlooked.
