It's safe to admit that very few rank the second Daniel Craig 007 appearance that highly when looking back on the blonde Bond's time in the iconic secret agent saddle. But many forget that things did actually start out quite promising for the screenwriter-strike-savaged Quantum of Solace.
Soon after capturing Mr. White in the last scene of the dynamic ride that was Casino Royale, Bond is seen escorting his new prisoner from Lake Garda to Siena, all with a pair of violent Alfa Romeros in hot pursuit. Perhaps the most thrilling car chase of the entire Craig series ensues, with his trusty Aston Martin DB9 getting put through the wringer as it ricochets around a tunnel whilst being shot to pieces by goobers.
Gritty, close-to-the-action, and about as pulsating as anything else that would follow it over the course of a wholly disappointing subsequent two hours, it's a minor miracle Mr. White actually made it to M in one piece on the back of a road war that'd make Mad Max wince.
