1. Will Tobey Maguire And Andrew Garfield Appear As Spider-Man? (Spider-Man: No Way Home)

Speaking of the multiverse, it's difficult to remember the last time a rumour/theory/fanboy dream dominated news cycles as heavily as this one does.

The conversation about Spider-Man: No Way Home's use of the multiverse - and, by extension, the possibility that it could bring back previous Spidey actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield - really started to heat up when THR reported that Jamie Foxx will be returning as Electro, reprising the role he last played in a separate Spidey universe in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Since then, we've heard chatter - some credible, some not so much - that foes like Alfred Molina's Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin (both from Maguire's Spider-Man trilogy) will appear, but the one thing that people really want to know is whether or not the previous Spider-Men will make the cut.

When asked about his involvement, Garfield denied everything, but of course, he could be lying. At the same time, it's also important to note that pretty much the only things Sony/Marvel Studios have confirmed about the film are its title and its release date. We don't even know for sure that the multiverse will be a factor.

No Way Home is currently the only 2021 MCU film to not have a trailer, and when it finally drops, you have to imagine that we'll get a Maguire/Garfield confirmation one way or another. Wouldn't three costumed Spideys be an amazing mic-drop moment?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
