10 Biggest Questions Surrounding Upcoming Movies
7. How Will The Film Handle Chadwick Boseman's Death? (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever)
The death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020 was a massive shock. Not only did it mean the loss of a phenomenal actor, it also raised some serious questions about the future of the Black Panther franchise, with a sequel to the first film already being deep into development when Boseman passed.
It's problematic, because Boseman's King T'Challa is the Black Panther. This is his story. He can't just disappear. So now that the actor is no longer with us, how is the sequel (titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) going to handle the character?
It's already been confirmed that T'Challa will not be recast, so that option is off the table. Boseman isn't going to be recreated using CGI, either. That does seem to indicate that T'Challa won't feature in the film at all - so is the story going to start by saying that he died offscreen?
While that might seem like an insensitive move, let's remember that we're talking about Marvel Studios here - this team hasn't put a foot wrong in over a decade, so however they decide to approach Black Panther 2, we can trust their judgement.
