Fans of the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler punched the air with glee in 2012 when it was announced that the dynamic duo would be starring in a new experimental drama series, True Love. Their jubilation was short lived, however, as it eventually transpired that they would both appearing in separate, self-contained stories. So close, but yet so far. Still, Billie's stint in the scriptless spotlight, in Episode 3, gave us lots to talk about as she took on the role of Holly, a lonely teacher whose unfulfilling relationship with a married man sparked an illicit lesbian affair with one of her students, Karen, played by Skins star Kaya Scodelario. And boy, did tongues wag. Billie brings an abundance of raw passion and emotion to her understated performance, particularly noteworthy since it was largely improvised on the day. Worth a watch.
