10 Characters The MCU Wishes It Could've Introduced Differently

Netflix

Bottom line here, Marvel sold Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and everybody else in those shows to Netflix almost entirely on the assumption they'd never have their own streaming service with which to properly use them.

Don't get me wrong, Netflix did a good job with them (both first seasons of DD and JJ are phenomenal, and Luke Cage is great in parts... we'll not talk about the rest) but these are not entirely considered part of the MCU now. They are, in a sense, but Marvel Studios doesn't pay them a second thought when planning out its own future. That's a shame too, as New York remains such a vital part of the movies it would be great to get the odd crossover.

Had Marvel known that Disney+ would be a thing by 2019, they would have held back on all of these titles and undoubtedly made some of them themselves. All the forthcoming shows on the network will connect directly to the MCU in one way or another, and it's a genuine shame that the existing Netflix efforts don't.

They might, one day, but the current agreement between Disney and Netflix means there's a cooling-off period for the characters that will last a few years. Fingers crossed they'll resurface one day.
