10 Coolest Sci-Fi Movie & TV Worlds

2. Sakaar - Thor: Ragnarok

Ego Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2
Marvel Studios

It's hard to pick whether the version of Sakaar from the original Planet Hulk storyline or the VERY different version in Thor Ragnarok is the superior version of this famous Marvel world.

Or at least it WOULD be hard, if the latter didn't have Jeff Goldblum.

Regardless of your preferred version, though, the fact remains that Sakaar is a world of brutality, with its most famous game being matches to the death between captured slaves. Sakaar is ruled by The Grandmaster, one of the Marvel universe's most powerful entities, who makes others fight for his own amusement.

Just a quick glance at this world will tell you that this planet is a melting pot of thousands of different alien cultures, all of whom were trapped on Sakaar one way or another. Architecture changes from building to building, most likely made by different races for different needs with different materials that fall from the various portals in the sky.

Sakaar is a ramshackle, slapdash civilization, and now that The Grandmaster is most likely having various hilariously inhumane things done to him by his former prisoners with jobs, one can only wonder what Sakaar will look like when we revisit it.
