Not a single Halloween season goes by without thousands of Batman cosplayers uploading pictures of their outfits to social media, and while some of these efforts look very impressive, there are a handful of people on the planet who could easily put all those imitators to shame.

One of these people is the dude/dudette who purchased the actual Batsuit worn by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton's 1989 film - complete with a cape, a cowl, a bodysuit and leg armour, with replica gloves, boots and a belt added to finish off the look - for a grand total of $83,000 (£65,000). Now yes, that's significantly more than your average cosplayer would have to fork out, but by god, would it be worth it.

As was the case with Hammond's glasses, the Batsuit was in good condition, with some expected signs of usage. Considering that it's 30 years old, though, it also might smell a little - but then again, a guy who spends his nights fighting crime probably has less time for showers than the rest of us.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
