10 Films President Trump Needs To Watch
1. The Running Man
According to The Running Man's opening text crawl, the global economy crashed in 2017, resulting in riots and food shortages. 18 months later, the top-rated TV show among disillusioned voters is The Running Man, where gladiators with names like Fireball, Subzero and Dynamo hunt and kill convicted felons.
The ringleader of this circus is Damon Killian (Richard Dawson), a Trump lookalike with racial issues: of the four contestants he selects, only one is a white American male (a Trekkie from the look of him, and almost certainly a Democrat). The others are an African-American, a Latino woman and Arnold Schwarzenegger, so this is a movie all about how big business deliberately makes life difficult for ethnic minorities.
Think about it: you’re living paycheque to paycheque, just getting by, then all of a sudden there’s this guy called Buzzsaw trying to cut you up, and he’s not doing it for glory or honour but for ratings. He’s an entertainer and Killian/Trump is his boss, a mean and surly sumbitch who’ll say and do whatever it takes to be #1.
Arnie isn’t having any of that and cuts Buzzsaw in half with his own chainsaw, which appears to be the film's moral: "Don't f**k with the supplicants or we will split you in two,"
