In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Sorcerer Supreme is Doctor Strange. However, the DC Extended Universe has its own "Sorcerer Supreme" in Dr. Fate, a very different hero who is set to make his presence felt in Black Adam as part of the aforementioned Justice Society of America.

Recent rumours have claimed that the Black Adam movie will take place in both the past and present, and Dr. Fate is set to be in each iteration of the JSA when they assemble to face Dwayne Johnson's anti-hero. What makes this character so special, though? Well, just like Doctor Strange is set to shake up the MCU by exploring the Multiverse, this is a hero who could make magic an even bigger part of the DCEU.

That opens the door to a lot of very different stories (some of which Shazam! hinted at), and Dr. Fate is a character who doesn't necessarily need his own franchise, but who could make a huge impact in others. In fact, we would be shocked if he doesn't become a recurring presence moving forward!
