10 Good Actors Trapped Making Terrible Movies

5. Will Smith

Will Smith's so busy being a Movie Star that it's easy to forget he also has two Best Actor Oscar nominations to his name, but between his recent critically-panned blockbusters and array of awards-baiting dramas, the A-lister has been in just one broadly well-received film since 2012 (2015's Concussion, which cracked exactly 60% on the Tomatometer).

Smith's recent duds are as follows: After Earth, Winter's Tale, Focus, Suicide Squad, Collateral Beauty and Bright. It doesn't help that Smith doesn't star in that many movies these days - just ten over the last decade - and he even turned down the lead role in Tarantino's Django Unchained, which was released mere months before Smith's losing streak began. Coincidence?

He at least has a lot of projects in the oven, so there's a good chance something will turn out decent. There's not much hope for Bright 2, Suicide Squad 2 or the two planned Bad Boys sequels scoring with critics, but Ang Lee's currently-shooting sci-fi actioner Gemini Man has a lot of potential, and Guy Ritchie's Aladdin could be good...maybe?
