10 Great Films Featuring Super Awkward Kissing Scenes

9. Bridget Jones's Diary

This hilarious romantic-comedy stars Renée Zellweger as the perennially single Bridget Jones, a hopeless romantic who is desperate for love. Throughout the film, two would-be suitors fight for Bridget's affections: her charming childhood friend Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), and the dashing Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant).

After various romantic mishaps, Bridget realizes that her feelings for Mark are undeniable. However, when Mark finds Bridget's diary, and discovers that she once wrote poorly of him, Bridget fears that she has lost him forever.

Running after him in only a cardigan, vest, and knickers, Bridget finds Mark, and the two lovingly embrace. While the pair's passionate kiss is satisfying and romantic, the moment is somewhat ruined by the cringey dialogue which follows.

A besotted Bridget quips, 'Wait a minute, nice boys don't kiss like that.' Staring into his paramour's eyes, Mark then promptly ruins this otherwise steamy exchange, replying with the astronomically awkward, 'Oh yes they !*$% do'. Charming.
