10 Great Superman Stories That Could Save The DCEU

The Man of Tomorrow has a diverse catalog of villains to choose from, and it is unfortunate that filmmakers resort to using only Lex Luthor and General Zod to act as antagonists in his films.

However, this can be easily rectified by bringing this 2008 comic arc to life, and introducing one of the more chilling comic book villains with.

A cinematic adaptation would obviously need to be standalone, to allow for various plot points - such as the introduction of Supergirl and death of Jonathan Kent - to breathe without having to stick to the already existing DCEU lore.

This would be worth it, however, as in exchange it would introduce a villain that not only can match Superman in strength and firepower, but also completely outclasses him in intellect, a combination yet to be seen on the big screen.

The scale of the story would be massive in scope and would introduce new worlds (mostly inside Brainiac's ship) for filmmakers to play with.

In addition to a larger scale, the film would be more fast-paced than previous Superman films, due to the race against time component of attempting to stop Brainiac's plan of shrinking the Earth, giving the film a real sense of urgency.
