10 Greatest Villains From Otherwise Disappointing Movies

5. Kingpin - Daredevil

The Disappointing Movie: Despite the comic book character’s many acclaimed exploits, the film failed to capture the character and was a boring action movie full of cliches and over-the-top performances.

The Great Villain: Although Vincent D’Onofrio may have recently offered the definitive take on the character, there’s much to be said about Michael Clarke Duncan’s role as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. the Kingpin in Daredevil.

Cast amidst controversy that he wasn’t the same skin colour as the comic book version, Duncan immediately proved the doubters wrong. Even though he was black, he completely physically embodied the character. He fittingly had Fisk’s trademark towering physique and a booming voice to go with it.

Just as he was physically powerful, the character was shown to boast a mental fortitude as well. He spends most of the movie keeping his public reputation in check and using Bullseye to do his dirty work. He treats crime like a business and the palpable menace of his indifference makes him all the more terrifying and memorable, in spite of the film around him.
