10 Hated Movie Characters That Were Written Out After Fan Backlash

One of the most infamous rifts in recent movie history was between Jared Leto's Joker and the rest of the cast of Suicide Squad. The actor decided to go method with the role and not leave character while he was on set. This led to him pissing off most of the cast, notably Margot Robbie, who said she wouldn't work with him again. He sent them used condoms, live rats, and demanded he only be referred to as 'Mistah J' on set.

This was on top of how he had pissed off fans of the character and the movie. This started when his design was released and he had the word 'Damaged' tattooed across his forehead. Really?! It was clear that David Ayer was wanting Leto to play an edgier Joker than before, leaning hard into the madman angle that had made Heath Ledger's Joker so successful in The Dark Knight.

It seemed though that Let simply didn't have the chops to pull off the role, with his Joker coming across less intimidating and more like that weird kid in your high school who thinks he's ultra-cool.

In the upcoming sequel, Leto is nowhere to be seen, and now that the second trailer is out, it can be seen that he's taken out in a fiery explosion early on. Good Riddance.
