5. Nightmare Beach

Set in Miami during Spring Break, Nightmare Beach features a helmet-adorned murderous motorcycle enthusiast who has the young partygoers of the day in their crosshairs.

From director Umberto Lenzi, this 1988 feature has a great mystery at its core where it relates to the identity of this killer. And to add further to all of this, Nightmare Beach opens by showing the leader of a biker gang given the electric chair treatment by the authorities due to his supposed role in the death of a woman. Having pleaded his innocence, is this biker back from the grave to seek some sort of twisted vengeance?

It's not just visiting partiers who are brutalised in Nightmare Beach, mind, for several of the area's biker gangs are also stalked and tormented by our central killer. Again, this only throws up further questions behind the identity of the film's sinister threat.

Making Nightmare Beech even more enjoyable, the movie also features the late, great Michael Parks delightfully chewing scenery as a doctor caught up in the middle of this brutality and bloodshed.
