Although one of the more badass women to ever feature within a horror film, by the time Juno Kaplan's death comes around in the final act of The Descent 2, it is safe to say that her demise feels like poetic justice.

The Descent and its aforementioned sequel follows the tale of a group of women who become trapped within a cave system, which is soon revealed to be inhabited by nightmarish prehistoric humanoids with a taste for human flesh. Juno's culpability for the group's predicament soon comes to light, as she is revealed to have led them into an unmapped cave system under the guise of a more tourist friendly route.

The revelations do not get any kinder for Juno as the film progresses. Not only is she revealed to have had an affair with lead protagonist Sarah's deceased husband, she accidentally kills fan favorite Beth, mistaking her for a crawler; this sequence somehow gets even worse as she abandons the mortally wounded but still conscious Beth in the darkness.

Juno appears to get her comeuppance when Sarah wounds her and leaves her for dead after revealing she knows the truth about her husband and Beth, but the sequel reveals that Juno survived as a proficient crawler killer underground. While extremely badass, her newly acquired monster exterminator skills sadly do not stop her from screaming and revealing the group's position as they feverishly try and escape in the follow-up's finale, which ultimately leads to her death at the hands of the "lead" crawler.

Juno, for so many reasons, you had that coming.
