10 Horror Movie Characters Who Did Everything Right And Still Failed

Inside's protagonist Sarah Scarangella (Alysson Paradis) is a pregnant woman who does just about everything that could be expected of her. 

When a strange woman (Béatrice Dalle) knocks on her door asking to use her phone, she smartly rebuffs her, and when the woman attempts to enter her home regardless, Sarah does the one thing any sensible person would - she calls the cops.

The police calm Sarah down and promise to have a car patrol the house throughout the night, and who could blame Sarah for believing that'd be the end of the matter?

And even once Sarah realises she's being stalked by a deranged woman who wishes to take her baby by any means necessary, she fights tooth and nail to fend her off.

Can we blame Sarah for accidentally killing her own mother by mistaking her for her attacker? Not really, as horrible as it is, and despite her tenacious effort to survive, she dies at the end of the movie when the woman cuts her stomach open to remove the baby.

The only small solace here, if you can call it that, is that Sarah's baby - who was stuck mid-birth - seemingly survives as a result of her death.
