10 Horror Movie Villains Who Returned More Badass

3. Chucky - Child’s Play 2

Even though he was burnt, shot, and generally just whacked around a lot in the first movie, Charles Lee “Chucky” Ray made a big comeback for the second Child’s Play outing in 1990.

The serial killer-turned-red-headed doll makes his return to the land of the living after a chance encounter with electricity. He has one thing on his mind - payback. Thus begins his hunt for Andy Barclay, the boy who was his previous undoing, and he is not in the mood to play nice.

Whilst Chucky was certainly not pleasant in the first film, this version of the Good Guy doll is meaner, nastier, and better in every way. This Chucky is smarter, more patient, and more cerebral in his work, tormenting Andy in secret before eventually revealing himself partway through the film.

Child’s Play 2 might be a lesser offering overall than the one that started it all, but the presentation of its main character is definitely an improvement.

If that shot at the end of a half-melted Chucky rising from the ashes doesn’t make you a fan, then nothing will.
