Each Final Destination instalment revolves around a group who managed to cheat death, only for the Grim Reaper to get wind of this and attempt to eliminate the survivors one-by-one, often by orchestrating an elaborate chain of events.

Although these chains of events usually start small, they quickly snowball into something disastrous, lethal, and super-gross. As a result, it's difficult to tell how victims will be snuffed out.

With that said, Final Destination 5 goes out of its way to ensure the ensemble meet a grisly end in the most unexpected way possible. When one character receives acupuncture, it looks like his demise will involve needles. Instead, he's killed when a statue squashes his head. Another character has eye laser surgery when the machine malfunctions, causing the laser to incinerate her face. How does she die? By falling out of a window.

However, the most blindsiding moment occurs during the climax, where Sam and Molly board a plane, triumphant they'd cheated death yet again. Suddenly, these lovebirds notice a scuffle breaking out amongst the passengers, which is revealed to be the main characters from the original movie.

Yep, that means Final Destination 5 was a secret prequel the whole time. And since the remaining passengers perished in Final Destination during the scene in question, it's soon apparent that Sam and Molly are doomed.
